How To Get Here

By Road

From Johannesburg/Pretoria to Senalala Game Lodge (approximately 6 hours)

From Johannesburg and Pretoria, travel on the N4 freeway passing Witbank and Middelburg, turning off left into Belfast.

Once in Belfast, turn right on the R540 towards Dullstroom. Pass through Dullstroom and continue to Lydenburg.

In Lydenburg, take the R36 to Ohrigstad. Pass through Ohrigstad and continue to Hoedspruit.

Upon entering Hoedspruit, pass through town and go cross a railway bridge. Shortly after the bridge you will reach a 4-way stop. Turn RIGHT on the R40 towards White River.

If you are entering Hoedspruit from Tzaneen/Phalaborwa, then continue over the 4-way stop upon entering Hoedspruit. You will now be on the R40 towards White river.

Continue on this road for 6,6 km and turn LEFT on the Eastgate/Timbavati road, where you will pass through a security checkpoint..

Proceed on this road (passing the Eastgate Airport on your left) for 18 km until you reach the Enkhulu gate – this is the entrance gate to the Klaserie and Timbavati reserves. Pay an entrance fee of R120 per vehicle.

Travel along the tar road for 21 km until you reach a sign (stone cairn) on your right that says Xanatseni. Turn LEFT onto a gravel road.

Continue on this road (through various gentle turns and dips) for 7,4 km until you reach an intersection at a big Marula tree. Turn LEFT at the intersection – the sign says Headquarters.

Proceed on this road for 400 m and turn LEFT at the sign that says Senalala. Drive into the lodge.

Steady driving should take 5½ to 6 hours from Johannesburg or Pretoria to the Lodge.

By Air

If you prefer to fly to Hoedspruit (Eastgate Airport), you can book your commercial flights on www.flyexpress.aero.

Flights from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit (direct) – two flights per day (1 hour).

Flights from Cape Town to Hoedspruit (direct) – one flight on Tuesday and one flight on Thursday (2 hours 40 minutes)

To book your transfer from Eastgate Airport to Senalala Game Lodge, you can make use of Eastgate Safaris & Transfers. You can book through their website at www.eastgatesafaris.co.za or you can phone them on 015 793 3678.

Private or Charter flights may be accommodated, depending on size and requirements, at a nearby airstrip close to Senalala Game Lodge. Permission needs to be arranged in advance.
